The day I went to the Forbidden City it was absolutely pouring but what I remember is the grand feeling of the palace even though it was not entirely enclosed. The architecture of old china was incredible. It was very interesting to see how their culture transcended into the construction of the forbidden city and to imagine what it would have been like to live there as royalty many years ago. I admire the way that China has so much history and how they incorporate nature into the aspects of their decor and home design. The entire Forbidden City is full of small details that make the whole space that much more special.
